Want to see only U.S. citizens voting in Michigan? You can help make it a reality.

Updated: 2 hours ago

The Board of State Canvassers is meeting THIS coming Friday, April 18th, to review ballot language to require citizenship to vote in Michigan.

If this ballot measure were to pass, proof of United States Citizenship would be required to vote in Michigan, and there is nothing the Michigan Senate, Governor Whitmer, Jocelyn Benson, or AG Nessel could do about it. The proposal would also require the state to provide a photo ID for anyone who could not afford one.

House Republican Floor Leader Bryan Posthumus is asking for supporters of the initiative to attend the meeting with the goal to fill the hearing room by 9:45 a.m. The meeting will be in room 1100 of the Binsfeld building across from the state Capitol (201 Townsend Street in Lansing, see map below, parking is available in the same building).

Show up and speak in support by filling out a comment card before the meeting OR, just be there to help fill the room to show your support.

As of the time of this mailing, an agenda has not yet been posted for this Friday's meeting. If for some reason they decide to postpone or cancel the meeting, a follow up mailer will be sent to inform everyone. Unfortunately, they are allowed to post an agenda as late as 18 hours before the meeting.

Agendas and meeting minutes for the Board of State Canvassers can be found at the following website:

Thank you for doing your part to make citizenship a requirement to vote in Michigan!
