STOP THE UNDERMINING OF ELECTION LAW!
Michigan’s Democrat-controlled legislature is using the waning moments of its power in this lame duck session to undermine election law. Between now and December 19, Democrats will be pushing through their progressive agenda.
Today (Wednesday) THREE key pieces of legislation will be addressed. Find your representatives’ contact information [House, Senate] and get ready to act now!
IN THE MICHIGAN HOUSE
National Popular Vote (NPV)
Michigan’s House will be voting today on whether to join the National Popular Vote Compact. The National Popular Vote compact will undermine the Electoral College, diminish Michigan’s individual sovereignty, and drive candidates to ignore our residents' needs. See map and detailed analysis HERE. Democrat House members especially need to hear from Michiganders to vote NO on this legislation. If the legislation is passed in the House, it will likely be passed by the Senate as well and signed into law by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. Republicans are united against this legislation. Democrats need persuading.

IN THE MICHIGAN SENATE
Senate Bill 1068 -- Limits on Poll Challengers and other election law amendments
Introduced by Senator Jeremy Moss (District 7), this legislation will be discussed today [Wednesday] at 3:00 p.m. in the Senate Committee on Elections and Ethics.
The legislation includes a plethora of changes to Michigan election law. Some of these changes were initially put forward in administrative guidance from the Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson but were struck down by the courts. For example, the legislation will limit how poll challengers’ ability to do their job.
Now Democrats are seeking to codify the changes into Michigan law. The vote in committee today will allow the legislation to pass on to the next procedural level and ultimate vote in the legislature.
