After 17 months of snuffing out news about the incriminating evidence found on Hunter Biden’s laptop, the New York Times has fessed up at last. In a stunning admission on March 16, tucked deep in paragraph 24 of Hunter Biden Paid Tax Bill, but Federal Investigation Goes On, the NYT published this: Emails “from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop…were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.”
The New York Post first broke the news in October 2020, about a month before the presidential election. Despite the Post’s reams of evidence and meticulous fact-checks, Facebook and Twitter, in tandem with mainstream broadcast and print media, quashed the story. If aired, the information would likely have derailed Biden’s chances of winning the presidency. Put another way, the Deep State deep-sixed the story.
The media wasn’t satisfied with denying and suppressing the Post’s investigative story. The wolf pack bared its fangs and tore into the reputation of the 220-year-old publication, founded in 1801 by Alexander Hamilton.
“This paper’s scoops on Hunter Biden’s laptop in 2020,” the Post wrote, “were labeled ‘Russian misinformation’ (Politico), a ‘hoax’ (Steven Brill of “fact-check” site NewsGuard), discredited by ‘many, many red flags’ (NPR), and a ‘hack and leak’ operation that had to be throttled (Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg).”
Tempting as it may feel to breathe a sigh of relief at the left-tilted Times’ acknowledgement, we election integrity warriors need to ask, Why now? What prompted the Times, once touted as the newspaper of record for the United States, to admit the truth about Hunter Biden’s laptop a year and a half after the story broke?
Some right-leaning publications are suggesting that the left is realizing that it’s losing control of the narrative, that it’s trying to get ahead of the next shoe to drop in order to salvage its sullied reputation. Several recent events support this hypothesis:
–The David C. Weiss investigation is one. Weiss, U.S. attorney for Delaware, was permitted to remain in office until his team resolves the Hunter Biden case. What if he is about to issue damning indictments that show Joe Biden was compromised by foreign and domestic enemies? What if “Big Guy” Joe is revealed to be the head of a crime-syndicate family that has accepted millions of dollars [AKA bribes] from China, Ukraine, and elsewhere?
–There is the scathing March 1 interim report from the former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman. Here Special Counsel Gableman exposed unethical, partisan, and illegal interference in the cheese state’s elections.
–The stench of the Election Registration Information Center (ERIC) is now crinkling the noses of legislators, lawyers, and judges across the nation.
–We would be remiss to overlook the Michigan Auditor General’s investigation whose Performance Audit Report chronicled a checklist of failures during the 2020 election on the part of the state’s Board of Elections: Michigan’s BOE failed to reconcile driver’s license files and death notices with its voter rolls. It failed to protect and ensure appropriate access to elector information in the state’s electronic poll books. It failed to conduct or submit proper post-election audits. Training election clerks and officials? Massive failure.
–Let us not forget the long-awaited report from Special Counsel John Durham. His team is quietly issuing indictments that point the finger of guilt at the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee for spying on a current U.S. president, for manufacturing a false narrative of Russian collusion, for lying to a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court and to the FBI. Oh, and there’s the little issue of orchestrating a coup against a sitting U.S. President.
–States’ elections are coming under increasing scrutiny as evidenced in Judicial Watch’s forcing North Carolina to scrub 480,000 ineligible names off its voter rolls. Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Texas, and Arizona are delving deep into election anomalies. Petition drives. Bills moving through state legislatures. Canvassers. Data analysts. A person can hardly throw a stick without hitting a grassroots activist who’s willing to go to the mat for election integrity.
So, it’s true. A litany of bubbling volcanoes could have forced the New York Times to stop gaslighting its readers about the authenticity of Hunter Biden’s laptop and the appalling information stored on its hard drive.
On the other hand, what if the NYT’s admission—and its nod to the mainstream media to do the same unveiling—is part of a scheme to leverage the situation for political gain? “Never waste a good crisis,” Rahm Emanuel, the Obama kingmaker, once said.
President Biden’s poll numbers are trolling the mucky bottom of the swamp. His confused pauses before exiting a stage, his cotton-mouthed mumbles, his calling Kamala the First Lady and the Ukrainians the Iranians—These gaffes are taking a toll on his party’s chances of retaining power.
What if, hypothetically, Biden’s own team is planning to exercise the 25th Amendment and remove him from office? A cognitive test is all they’d probably need to make their case. Then they could lead him off stage and usher in a new face, arguably not the even-less-popular VP Kamala Harris. With media support, Biden’s handlers could create the false narrative of a fresh reset.
Blame the Russians for skyrocketing gasoline prices and inflation. Tax the rich. Maybe even tax Hunter Biden, who recently told associates that he had to borrow money in order to pay the $1 million he owed in federal taxes—one of his issues under Justice Department scrutiny.
After the office of Vice President, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stands next in line for the presidency. The birthday girl turns 82 this week. Eager to display her mental prowess, she said on March 12, “Government spending is reducing the national debt.”
That sort of statement can feel oddly comforting. After all, no one capable of uttering such total nonsense could possibly mastermind a Dr. Evil plot to fundamentally transform the republic, right?
Then again, Pelosi, a spry 70 back in 2010, said, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what’s in it.” She proceeded to whip her house members into line, and they enacted Obamacare without a single Republican vote.
So, one thing is certain. Regardless of what motivated the NYT to make its revelations and regardless of how gray the wolves have become around the muzzle, they still have sharp teeth.
For election integrity,
